The small village of Skala is located in the southern part of the island. Skala is one of the most finely organized tourist resorts. It is only 30 km away from Argostoli, the Islands capital.
Beside of the beautiful scenery, the long sandy fully organized beach and the countless options for a pleasant stay, you can also find everything you need from a variety of banks, public services, supermarkets, caffe’s, bar restaurants, pharmacies and many more. Skala is of much archaeological interest, since the remains of an ancient roman mansion was discovered during excavations, featuring unique mosaic floors while in a distance of just 2km one can find the ruins of a temple dedicated to Apollo.
Another characteristic of the area is it’s beautiful beach, some 3.5 km long, with tiny pebbles and turquoise green water. You can also find scuba diving, watersports and other things to keep you occupied. At night there plenty of options to enjoy your drink at the seaside caffe-bars.
